A Journey Through England's Most Beautiful Landscapes
What if your next trip wasn’t about rushing from one tourist attraction to another?
What if it was about slowing down, walking through rolling green hills, stopping in charming villages, enjoying a warm meal at a local inn and ending each day with a sense of accomplishment?
In October 2027, we’ll be taking on one of England’s most iconic long-distance trails: the 102-mile Cotswold Way. This will be a 12-day group adventure designed for travelers who want to experience England at a different pace—one footstep at a time.
Whether you’re a solo traveler looking for community, a couple seeking a meaningful adventure, or a family with older children who love the outdoors, this trip offers a unique opportunity to experience the heart of the English countryside.
What Is the Cotswold Way?
The Cotswold Way is a National Trail that stretches approximately 102 miles through some of England’s most breathtaking countryside.
The trail winds through:
- Rolling hills
- Ancient woodlands
- Open farmland
- Historic villages
- Stone cottages covered in ivy
- Centuries-old churches
- Panoramic viewpoints across the English countryside
Along the way, we’ll pass through picturesque market towns and villages that look as though they belong in a storybook.
This isn’t just a hike. It’s a journey through England’s history, culture and landscapes.
No Camping. No Carrying Heavy Packs.
The biggest question people ask is: “Do I have to carry everything on my back?” Absolutely not. We’ll be using a professional luggage transfer service that will transport your luggage between accommodations each day.
That means you can:
- Walk with only a daypack
- Carry water, snacks, and essentials
- Enjoy the scenery instead of a heavy backpack
- Arrive at your next inn with your luggage already waiting for you
This makes the experience accessible to travelers who want the adventure of a long-distance hike without the burden of carrying all of their belongings.
Staying in Traditional English Inns
Instead of camping, we’ll stay in a collection of charming inns, guesthouses, and small hotels along the trail.
These accommodations are part of what makes the Cotswold Way so special.
Imagine:
- Cozy lounges with fireplaces
- Traditional English breakfasts
- Locally owned inns
- Historic buildings full of character
- Friendly village pubs
- Comfortable beds after a day on the trail
Each evening offers a chance to relax, share stories from the day’s walk and enjoy the atmosphere of rural England.
A Trip Designed for Real Travelers
This is not a race. It’s not about how fast you can finish. It’s about experiencing the journey. We’ll walk together through some of England’s most beautiful landscapes while allowing time to:
- Explore villages
- Visit local cafés
- Take photographs
- Learn about local history
- Enjoy the scenery
- Connect with fellow travelers
Daily mileage varies, making the hike manageable while still providing a rewarding challenge.
Who Is This Trip For?
This adventure is open to:
Solo Travelers
Travel independently while enjoying the support and camaraderie of a group.
Couples
Share an unforgettable experience together while exploring one of England’s most scenic regions.
Families
Older teens and parents often find this type of adventure incredibly rewarding.
Minimum age: 15 years old
Why October?
October is one of the most beautiful times to walk the Cotswold Way. The countryside begins to glow with autumn colors, temperatures are comfortable for hiking and the trail is often quieter than during peak summer months.
Expect:
- Crisp mornings
- Comfortable daytime temperatures
- Autumn foliage
- Charming village atmospheres
- Incredible photography opportunities
The Grand Finale: Bath
While the countryside is spectacular, one of the highlights of the entire journey is where it ends.
After nearly two weeks of walking through villages, hills and farmland, we’ll arrive in the magnificent city of Bath.
Bath is one of England’s most beautiful and historic cities, known for:
- Stunning Georgian architecture
- Roman history
- Elegant streets and squares
- Historic abbey
- Boutique shopping
- Traditional tea rooms
- Beautiful riverside walks
There is something incredibly special about arriving in Bath after walking 102 miles across England. The city feels like a well-earned reward and provides the perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure. Many travelers consider reaching Bath one of the most emotional moments of the entire experience.
How This Trip Will Work
This will be a community-planned adventure, which means I’ll do the research, provide guidance, and help you create an amazing experience—but you’ll maintain full control over your travel arrangements.
As the trip organizer, I will:
- Create the overall trip framework and walking itinerary
- Recommend the best towns to stay in along the route
- Provide a list of recommended inns, guesthouses, and accommodations for each overnight stop
- Share transportation guidance, packing recommendations, and training resources
- Offer support and answer questions throughout the planning process
- Help connect travelers who may wish to coordinate portions of their journey
You will be responsible for booking:
- Your flights
- Your accommodations
- Travel insurance
- Meals and personal expenses
- Any optional sightseeing or activities
One of the wonderful things about this approach is flexibility. Some travelers may prefer a cozy bed-and-breakfast. Others may want a boutique inn or a slightly more upscale hotel. By booking your own accommodations from my recommended options, you can choose what best fits your budget, travel style and comfort level while still staying in the same towns as the rest of the group.
This also allows solo travelers, couples, and families to customize their experience while enjoying the support and camaraderie of traveling alongside others on the trail.
Think of it as traveling independently, but never alone.
Why We're Announcing So Early
One important detail about this adventure is that accommodations along the Cotswold Way are limited. The small inns and guesthouses that make this trail so special often book many months, and sometimes more than a year, in advance.
Because of this, we’ll begin gathering interest and planning well ahead of the trip. Our goal is to have a strong group of interested travelers by the end of Summer 2026 so everyone has plenty of time to prepare, train and secure accommodations before availability becomes limited.
More Than a Hike
The Cotswold Way is about much more than walking. It’s about slowing down, conversations along the trail, stepping into villages that have stood for centuries and discovering what happens when you trade busy schedules for country lanes. Most importantly, it’s about proving to yourself that you can accomplish something extraordinary – one step at a time.
